Bought this for daughter who just moved into own apartment. Wanted to her to have something very loud if (I hope never) necessary. This alarm is very, very loud and I would think it would scare someone off who is too close for comfort. You can press the button for a one-time alarm sound or pull the plug for an on-going alarm. Again, very loud and I think it would attract attention if needed; more importantly, would surprise someone. Can’t hurt to have. Best price I could find on line and arrived very quickly.

When you want a loud alarm, you want this thing. It is extremely loud, more than you would ever expect. It also has a personal light that can come in handy when you activate the alarm.
